Adaptive Pilates Instructor
I have taught Pilates for the last 30 years. I began by working in Physical Therapy, so have that as a background. I worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant in California for about 5 years before I moved to Montana and started my Pilates Studio. I had a spinal cord injury at T5 ,15 years ago. I have studied my own movement and also other injuries over the last fifteen years. I have studied with several Pilates programs on Pilates and Neurological conditions. I have studied and work with the development stages of movement.
I work with those with spinal cord injury, amputation, Parkinsons, stroke and MS. Clients can be seated in wheelchair or chair or laying on the floor. In the studio I work with people on the Pilates Cadillac, Reformer or in standing. I enjoy meeting people where they are in movement. I can also meet you on zoom!
I am an athlete and am passionate about riding my handcycle and cross country skiing . I get out of my chair to move when ever possible. I love helping people make the most of the body they have. I meet people where they are . I like to start with the basics so people can connect with their core in whatever way they are able, either physically or through imagery and breathe if the physical connection is not possible.
Let me know how I can help you achieve your goals!!!
