How to BulletProof your Shoulders

Tight, achy shoulders?

Dr. Theresa went LIVE on LinkedIn on February 23, 2023 for a session on How to Bulletproof Your Shoulders with drills to help you open up tight shoulders for better overhead function.

Check out the video on the left or read below for a summary!

4 Takeaways from Dr. T’s Live

#1.  Mobilize your lats to feel easier overhead movement

Stiff shoulders? Trouble reaching overhead? Dr. T demos a mobilization using a foam roller and a band, but if you only have a foam roller, you’re good to go!

#2. Use a chest opener to counteract desk work

Spending a long time at your desk can make your shoulders start to round and hunch forward, so it’s important to get out of that position and loosen up the tissues that are tight! Dr. T shows you an easy chest opener using just a ball and the floor.

#3. If you have trouble reaching behind your back, use a doorjamb to stretch!

Dr. T shows an awesome stretch where you can create some space in your shoulder joint to make it easier to reach behind your back.

#4.  STAY CONSISTENT for at least one month

Most people try a stretch or mobilization once or twice and then forget about it. That’s simply not enough time to make changes. Give yourself the gift of consistency and you’ll reap the rewards.
