    Description

    Strength and Conditioning Coaches (SCCs) for the Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) Program. The SCCs will act as part of a multi-discipline team that will provide program analytical support and qualified/certified Strength and Conditioning Coaches (SCCs) and Cognitive Performance Specialists (CPSs) to function as integrated members of a Brigade (BDE)-based multi-disciplinary team focused on optimizing Soldier readiness and performance within the Army’s new Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) System. The H2F System is the Army’s primary investment in Soldier readiness and lethality, optimal physical and non-physical performance, reduced injury rates, improved rehabilitation after injury, and increased overall effectiveness of the Total Army. The system empowers and equips Soldiers to take charge of their health, fitness, and well-being in order to optimize individual performance, while preventing injury and disease.

    Responsibilities

    As a Strength and Conditioning Coach (SCC), you will assist the Lead SCC with developing, coordinating, executing, and managing recommended and approved strength and conditioning programs.
    Tasks to Include:

    • Developing lines of communication within the Brigade (BDE), Battalion (BN) and Company leadership
    • Coordinating, executing, and managing approved physical performance optimization programs
    • Developing and recommending evidence-based periodized strength and conditioning programs focused on unit mission and individual Solider tasks
    • Submitting strength and conditioning programs to Lead SCC for approval
    • Assisting the Lead SCC with developing, coordinating, and executing approved training programs for Soldiers with physical limitations

    Qualifications

    Strength and Conditioning Coaches (SCCs) should possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, and a certification by the NSCA as a CSCS or by the CSCCA as a SCCC. Two years of experience of relevant SCC work within the last five years is required. Relevant experience is defined as: developing and executing task and environment specific functional injury control and health/well-being programs for groups of athletes or DoD/Department of Homeland Security/Department of Justice entities focused on a common sport or mission performance goal. Must possess a current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross with Automated External Defibrillators (AED) certification.

    Other requirements:

    • U.S. Citizenship required
    • Interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity to relate to Soldiers from diverse backgrounds
    • Experience with Microsoft applications and SharePoint sites
    • Must be physically able to hike in austere environments and terrains while carrying a backpack with necessary supplies on occasion (<20% of the time).
    • Must be physically able to lift and manipulate loads of weight plates up to 45 pounds.

    DPT for Functional Fitness and Corporate Wellness

    If you are a PT that is passionate about helping people move and perform better, and feel like you walk the talk, please keep reading. At Movement Rx our focus is on working with functional fitness (think CrossFit), tactical athletes (military, police, etc.), and corporate wellness initiatives. The common theme is that our clients are active and are interested in both improved performance as well as reactive treatment. We partner with fitness and corporate facilities to educate and treat athletes at their locations.

    We are seeking a new therapist to add to our growing practice in San Diego. The ideal candidate(s) will be familiar with mobility and movement, have very strong differential diagnosis skills, and is able to think outside the box in helping clients reach their goals. The right candidate(s) will understand that a combination of treatment philosophies is necessary to be most effective as a therapist. The right candidate(s) will also be able to demonstrate a commitment to their own physical wellness as well as that of others. The position would start as a part-time role with the expectation that in short order it could become full-time.

    Experience & Skills Required

    • You want to break away from traditional outpatient clinic work
    • Considerable outpatient ortho or sports experience, licensed DPT to practice in California;
    • Excellent ‘bedside manner’/inspiring customer service mindset;
    • Clear communicator in both 1-on-1 (treatment) and group (coaching) sessions;
    • Impressive decision-making skills and ability to work without direct supervision;
    • Experience with or clear understanding of Olympic lifting movements and functional fitness programs.

    Responsibilities

    • Identifying and assessing physical impairments, functional limitations, pain and disability along with their impact on physical ability and function; developing an individualized plan of care focused on mutually determined physical and functional goals; and treating and educating patients to prevent and alleviate physical impairments and to optimize physical function and/or comfort.
    • Presenting to groups in a fitness and/or corporate wellness environment on effective movement and mobility.
    • Being on video. It works as an education and patient attraction tool – there is no way around it.
